Screens around the building

This page is for people running a venue or a night. If you’re a DJ looking to play, start here.

A venue account can run several screens at once, each with its own branding, its own QR code and its own page behind it.

The kinds of screen

  • Your own DJ display — your personal branding, for when you are the one playing. You get one if you also set up as a DJ, on any plan.
  • The house screen — the venue’s own. Its branding, its QR code. This is what runs when nothing else is on. Venue Lite and up.
  • The open decks screen — runs the night’s lineup and switches by itself. Venue Lite and up.
  • The promoter screen — for accounts that also run a promoter brand: the crew’s own name and look, separate from any venue. Promoter Lite and up.
  • Numbered screens — extra screens for other rooms. Venue Pro only.

Numbered screens

Each screen has its own QR code, so a scan in one room can lead somewhere different.

You get 20 of them. Each one is a separate screen with its own page. A code in the back bar can lead somewhere different from one on the main floor. The allowance is one pool for the whole account: promoter accounts on the top plan draw from the same 20, whether or not a venue is attached.

Each numbered screen can override the house look for:

  • Its background and colours.
  • Its QR code, and where that code points.
  • Its Instagram handle and its alerts.

The handle is per screen. The connection is the house’s: connect the venue’s own Instagram once, on the house screen’s Engage tab. Every screen without a resident DJ then shows the venue’s live count. A screen with a resident DJ shows that DJ’s count, from that DJ’s own connection.

A screen inherits anything you do not override from the house screen. Change the venue branding once and every screen without its own settings changes with it.

Add a screen

  1. Open the Displays tab and choose Add Display.
  2. Name it after the room. “Back bar” beats “Display 3”.
  3. Set any overrides it needs, or leave it inheriting the house look.
  4. Launch it on that room’s screen, or print its QR code for the wall.
A screen keeps its own address even if you reorder the list. A code you already printed and stuck to a wall keeps working. Reordering only changes what you see in the dashboard.

Handing a screen to a DJ

You can hand a numbered screen to a resident DJ. That DJ then controls the branding on it, and you cannot edit their settings. This is deliberate — it is their name on the screen.

Turning one off

You can deactivate a screen without deleting it. Use that for a room you have closed for the winter. Everything comes back exactly as it was when you switch it on again.
