Fill in your DJ profile

This page is for DJs. If you run a venue or a night, start here.

When you’re done, you’ll have a public page you can send to a promoter instead of a folder of screenshots.

Start with who you are

  1. Open DJ profile and stay on the Profile tab.
  2. Claim your handle if your plan includes one (any paid plan); we check availability as you type. Nothing to claim yet? Skip this. Your page lives at a permanent address either way — your name on it is the only thing waiting.
  3. Write a tagline. One line, and it should say what you play — this is the sentence that appears in search results.
  4. Write a short bio. A few sentences. The long version has its own field further down for people who want it.
Fill this in once. It is the page a promoter reads before deciding to book you.

What you play, and where

  1. Pick your genres. Choose the ones a promoter would book you for, not everything you own.
  2. Pick the event types you take — clubs, festivals, weddings, corporate, private, bars. These are what promoters filter on.
  3. Set your city. This is what puts you in local searches.
Being honest here works better than being broad. A wedding promoter searching for a wedding DJ will skip a profile that lists every genre going.

Add proof

Before you startPhotos, mixes and the booking form is included on Creator and up. Compare plans.
  1. Add photos of you playing. A real crowd beats a posed portrait every time.
  2. Add mixes. Paste a link from YouTube, SoundCloud or Mixcloud and it embeds so people can listen without leaving the page.
  3. Add a video if you have one. Thirty seconds of you working a room does a lot.
We re-encode every photo you upload, which strips the location data phones attach. Your photos never give away where you took them.

Publishing, and getting listed

There is nothing to turn on. Your page is public from the start at its permanent address — Publish at the bottom of the profile tab is already on, and it is there for the day you want to take the page down rather than the day you want it up.

Being public and being listed are different, though. The DJ directory and Google only pick you up once the page says something: a DJ name, plus at least one of a bio, a city, or a genre. Until then your address works for anyone you send it to and stays out of search. The completeness meter in the same card tells you where you stand.

Check it workedOpen your profile address in a private browsing window. If it loads there, it is genuinely public.

Worth doing before you send it anywhere

  • Read the tagline out loud. If it could describe any DJ, rewrite it.
  • Check your top mix is one you would want judged on.
  • Open it on a phone. Most people will read it on one.

If it didn’t work

The page says it cannot be found. You turned Publish off at some point — it is in the card at the bottom of the profile tab, next to your page’s address.

The page loads but you are not in the directory. You are below the listing bar — add a DJ name and a bio, a city, or a genre.

You cannot find the photo and mix fields. They start at Creator.

A mix link will not embed. Use the link from the share button on the original platform, not the one in the address bar. Private and unlisted uploads often will not embed at all.
