Claim a slot and play

This page is for DJs. If you run a venue or a night, start here.

When you’re done, you’ll have a slot, a confirmation email with the time on it, and a set that counts towards the measured stats on your profile.

Find a night

  • Browse open decks nights by city from the directory.
  • Scan the code on a venue’s screen — that is the fastest route.
  • Follow a link a venue sent you, or one shared by a friend.

You can look at any night’s page without an account, so it is safe to send one to someone who has not signed up yet.

A DJ can see the whole night before signing in — the page works logged out.

Claim a slot

  1. Open the night’s page. You will see every slot and which are still free.
  2. Choose one and select Claim.
  3. Enter a DJ name if you have not set one up yet. It is two fields and it takes about twenty seconds.
  4. Check your email for the confirmation with the time on it.

Check it workedYour slot should show as taken with your name on it, and it should appear under My sets in your dashboard.

Claiming a slot is free on every plan. There is nothing to upgrade to and no fee to the venue through us.

If the night is full

Join the waitlist rather than messaging the venue. If another DJ drops out, everyone on the waitlist gets an email, and the first to grab the slot plays it. Move quickly when that email lands.

If you cannot make it

Release the slot from the same page you claimed it on, as early as you can. That puts it back into the pool and lets the waitlist know. Venues notice who does this and who never turns up at all.

On the night

  • The venue’s screen shows the running order, so you do not need to ask.
  • A countdown shows how long you have left while you play.
  • Turn up early enough to watch the end of the set before yours. Changeovers are where the running order slips.

Afterwards

We email you a recap: how many people scanned, what the set did for your following, and any tips you took. Your profile records the set, and it feeds the measured stats a promoter can see.

The day-before reminder, the on-soon note and the recap each have a switch under My sets → Email preferences if you’d rather not get them. Confirmations and cancellation notices have no switch.

If it didn’t work

The slots will not let you claim. Sign-ups may not be open yet, or the venue may have limited the night to its own roster.

No confirmation email. Check spam. Your set will be under My sets either way — the email is a convenience, not the record.
