Post an open decks night
This page is for people running a venue or a night. If you’re a DJ looking to play, start here.
When you’re done, you’ll have a night people can sign up to play — live the moment you save it, with a link and a flyer you can put anywhere.
Create the night
- Open Open Decks and choose New night.
- Give it a title and a line about the vibe. DJs read this before deciding.
- Set when it runs. Check the timezone matches the room, because every time a DJ sees is in venue time.
- Set the slot length. Thirty minutes suits most rooms; an hour if you want fewer, longer sets.
Who can sign up
You answer two separate questions here, and both are worth getting right:
- Which DJs can sign up — anyone with the link, or only DJs on your roster. Open is how you find new people. Roster-only is how you keep the standard predictable.
- Who can take which slots — you can reserve the better times for DJs you have graded higher on your roster, and leave the rest open.
The screen is already handled
There is no screen to pick. Every night runs on your Open Decks display — the pinned one in slot 1 — automatically. On the night it shows the running order; between sets it shows the sign-up code.
Between sets and on the idle poster, the look is the venue’s — it comes from that display’s settings. During a set, the guest DJ’s own look takes over — their background, colors and name — unless you turn on the override toggles on your Open Decks display, on the night’s live console or the Open Decks page, which swap in your venue’s version of each piece. Flip them whenever you like, even mid-set — the screen follows in seconds. The DJ’s name on screen is always theirs.
Share it
Saving the night publishes it — sign-ups are open straight away unless you chose a sign-up window.
- Copy the link from the night’s card, or choose Download flyer — a story-format image with the schedule on it, open slots highlighted, and your public page link. The same button is on the sign-up page, so DJs can post it too.
- Put the flyer on your story and the link anywhere DJs will see it. Your screen already shows the sign-up code between sets — the room in front of you is the best audience for it.
For posters and booth QR codes, use the evergreen link: hypedisplay.com/od/v/your-venue-handle always points at your next night, whichever that is. Print that once and it never dies with one night.
Check it workedOpen the link in a private browsing window. You should see the slot grid, with every slot showing as open, and no need to sign in to look.
If it didn’t work
The times look wrong to a DJ. Check the timezone on the night. You set it per night, not once per account.
Nobody can sign up. You set a sign-up window, and it has not opened yet — or it has already closed.
DJs say slots show as unavailable. You have restricted those slots to a roster grade. Loosen it, or add those DJs to your roster.
